  1. Pacman was the one to make the make the motion to vacate the chair.
  2. I think if you surprise drug tested any big or medium city police force in the USA you could catch 100 police popping positive for coke or meth on a Monday morning.
  3. It makes sense. Japan has negative interest yield now. They can loan money to the Philippines at a higher rate. They can guarantee a Japanese company will build the rail line and build the rail cars. It's a win win situation.
  4. The police here don't even have enough petrol to chase you lol. I do like the survivor idea though.
  5. Wait! Doesn't it take money to build a new prison? Island prisons are very expensive. This is a pipe dream.
  6. It's Doubtfull that South Korea could beat North Korea without horrific loss of lives. If you took japan, South Korea, Philippines and Vietnam, they still don't have the power to beat China. This is about drilling for oil and fishing. Both are big money industries and none of this makes you less secure while you sleep in the US.
  7. The Hague ruled on this issue. It should be a UN issue, not a US issue. We're still trying to wrap up crap in Afghanistan, Iraq and now Isis. When I go to bed at night should I care if a corrupt Chinese or Filipino is going to get rich from the fishing and drilling from the South China Sea. There is no risk to us as Americans. Some Asian countries will lose face but that's it. Come on, who in the region can take on China?
  8. It's not about free movement of vessels, it's about fishing, minerals and petroleum that may or may not be there. Commercial vessels of all nations travel the South China Sea every minute unmolested. It's clearly not in China's interest to do so. They have huge numbers of ships traveling every waterway in the world, so punitive action will hurt them. It's the fishing boats and in the future, drill ships everyone's fighting about. I don't believe China has any claim to the Spratly Islands. I just personally believe it's an Asian issue that we shouldn't get involved in. The icing on the cake is the new Philppines president doesn't even want us here.
  9. As Americans, what should we care about some shoals in the South China Sea. Especially if the Philippines doesn't want us here. We have ports in Guam, Okinawa and Japan. Why are we even getting involved in this? The UN ruled on the matter, now let them do something about it. China has so much debt hidden in its local governments it's bound to have problems, and soon. I don't want to see Americans die over shoals that may, or may not have resources. Resources that will be taken by another country.

  11. Ten years ago I flew from Manila to Hk, I can't remember if it was on PAL or Cathay. When we arrived in Hk we found out that half the planes luggage hadn't been loaded on the plane. They got me my luggage the next day but it had been rooted through. I had nothing valuable in the bag but some random stupid stuff had been taken.
  12. According to the Philippine immigration website the dress code was modified in 2013. They have a liitle illustration an what's allowed and what isn't allowed. For men, baseball caps, tank tops, bathing suit style shorts and barefeet are not permitted. According to the illustration, shorts, collarless shirts and even sandals are acceptable.
  13. I agree, I thought part of the draw to watching NASCAR live was the noise from the car's engines.
