Tourists caught with P600,000 worth of marijuana

TWO tourists were arrested in the outskirts of the Montanosa carrying marijuana. Mark Justin Jemilla Dayrit, 22, and Bob Bruce Dionisio Jr., 21, both single and residents of Sitio Dau, Barangay Mabalacat, Pampanga were apprehended by Monatanosa's Finest for having in their possession marijuana bricks amounting to P601,100. At check point in at Sitio Latang, Lower Caluttit, Bontoc, Mt. Province, October 20, police saw a marijuana brick protruding at the backrest of the front passenger seat of the suspects Isuzu crosswind which prompted them to ask that all bags be opened leading to the confiscation of 6 marijuana bricks weighing 6.11 kgs. Police believe the loot was brought and will be sold to the lowlands by the duo. The arrest of Dayrit and Dionisio was carried out by the 1st Maneuver Platoon of the Mt Province Provincial Public Safety Company or PPSC confiscated marijuana bricks from two transporters. The confiscated items were immediately brought to the PNP Crime Laboratory Office at PRO-COR for qualitative examination while an appropriate case was filed against the suspects.

The Mountain Province is the principle "growing region" in the P.I.
Sounds like it was a "set-up" to me, especially when you consider
the tons of methamphetamine that get the "green light" through Customs
at the port in Manila.
